Enjoyable!

It's certainly an enjoyable piece. It seems to have a rather strange charm to it, relatable to some sort of soundtrack piece. although i have to say that it is quiet short and that it does not loop very well, the instrument selection is very appropriate and the drums are very well done. The melodies have a strange feel to them, almost uneasy. I think you should try making a longer melody pattern tho and try to make it a bit slower. I think this would sound much better if it were a slower ballad type of song. I can't really give you any sort of usefull instrumental advice since this type of music really isnt in my style range, But i hope at least some of this was useful.

Hey mate, glad you enjoyed!

As foretold in my previous response to SuperSteph54, I gave myself the challenge to make the shortest most efficient song possible, and I tried to make a melody that would stick in your mind!

The reason it sounds so uneasy is because of the chords and the motives I chose. I did some sort of call and response, but with the exact same melody, so it sounds just as much a question than an answer, hence the ambiguity. The chords also NEVER resolve.

I'm really surprised someone noticed though, I figure you have at the very least SOME experience in the domain.

Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed, I'll try to make it longer next time!

So epic it's scary

I swear this shit is blowing up my sub like there is no tomorrow. Love all the filtering and the percs are as pro as it gets! Pads were sick, the sub is perfect, the bass manipulation is super pro too! I think maybe the voxcould be a bit louder but it has a certain background vibe to it so i don't know. This just shows how much i've underestimated you. Keep it banging my friend! Sick!~

I agree with the vocodex thing but there was some weird conflict with the voice sample and vocodex that I couldn't figure out. For some reason, vocodex was only like 50% efficient...if that makes any sense :/

[Cynic Nghh Hype Track '11]

I don't care what everyone says.

This track is a win. The beat is mad, the keys are catchin and you've got just the right voice for rap. Lyrics are right on. Could use a bit more hat tho and the snare has too much res. The song is really on the short side too... but since this is ng i guess il let it pass. The mix is pro. except for the rappin being pretty quiet, but you definitly got a good chance in the competition. Good luck and good work.

Only you could make such a cheezy song. Really cant say i like it too much. Nothing really stands out to me. but i cant really bring it down either. If it was a bit less hyper could go well for sims music :P.

I have to say that you are really starting to impress me. This sounds completely proffessional! The drums are mindblowing (wich doesnt surprise me) the best is very well made, the bassline is great... i dont even know how you made the intro... the way the drums just pop up after the intro is just superb. Next thing i would do is add a main melody in the higher register with the piano say... then bring in all down but that higher register melody. then pop back in with a more complexe/longer bassline melody and im sure the rest will come yo ya =D

:D Man, Im glad you like it so much. The intro was pretty different then what I usually do for ambient sounding things. Layering and hitting random-ish notes on a pad with no attack and high release. Bassline is done in Reason. Freakin love Reason for basslines. :D Anyway, Im glad you like this. Im definitely gonna finish it, gonna work more on it tomorrow.

Love the atmosphere you got here. For what i can hear you used the reverb quiet well. All your transitions are spot on. The voice thing at 30 seconds in is nice but a bit loud for my tastes. The instrument selection is also very good. You got an excellent groove going ^^. Keep it up! I love it!

Wowzaz!

This is ambient style at its best! Not like that 12 minute drone stuff. Truly progressive, Truly mastered, Truly mesmerizing. The drums i think could sound better, but besides that, the atmosphere is there, the choice of instruments is superb, The melody is awesome... You are truly a master of your own domain. This really reminded me of Pat Metheny's ambient tracks ("Oasis" for example). You should check him out sometime! If you havn't already. Best of luck in the competition! It's gonna be hard beating this!

I love this mix! Great progression! The mix is pretty good too although the reverb is a bit overdone at times and i think it deserves a fater bass but besides that, the percs are epic (besides that snare/clap/hihat wich needs a bit less highpass). Opposed to what my review might sugest i did really like this mix. Newgrounds needs more artists as talented as you.

Hot damn! There is just something about this mix... Oh right, maybe its the fact that you made it... This is damn epic bro! Fx and filters mastered to the limit! I love every transition, every note, every second. The mixing is just so crisp and clean. Production quality is very very good. The only thing that hurts the mix are thoes violins comming in at around 1:40 minutes. They are horribly robotic and somewhat off key. But the rest is still... as usual... top notch stuff. You are definitly one of my favorite artists on newgrounds.
