You're melodies are groovy as hell! The Attention to detail is phenomenal in terms of the melodical content. You make me love chiptune like no one else :D *jams excessively*
as a reverb addict, listening to a song this good without any reverb what so ever makes me go O.O

Thank youu! :D hehe. gradually bringing more people to the chip side.

Holly fuck this is awesome "Two Thumbs Up!" ~ This Guy

SoundSpectre responds:

Thanks, glad you like it :)

Absolutely love this! Everything about it is just perfect. Is it okay if I do a remix of this? I know its just a teaser but I'm as excited about it as you are!

Troisnyx responds:

Sure, go for it!

This is absolutely fantastic. I love your music so much you don't even understand. This track shows a style of yours I wasn't aware of. This song is so perfect other than when that awful trumpet sound came up i honestly just couldn't help but laugh. like rolling on the floor laughing xD. anyway with quality like this i have no idea how you're still on newgrounds.

D-Chain responds:

Thanks for the positive vibe bro!
the reason why i am still here is because i am content with my decision (staying on NG).
i have had 'big dreams' but they all get nullified due to my fear of big crowds.

most songs i do are therefore complete trash anyway and the ones who rise above everything
(like this song) come close to the tip of the mountain e.g. the extend of my skill.

but anyways..
Time has no limit, age is just a factor, quality is priceless and music never dies.

Hell Yeah! :D
I really like how you went for the authentic Japanese style intro here! Really adds to the ambiance of the track. I usually prefer a more mellow drum & bass vibe this this suited surprisingly well!

Instrumentation:
You got some nice instrumentation here accompanied by some stellar percussion that i can never seem to get right when it comes to drum & bass. The lead in the main synth in the drum & bass section could of been brighter in my opinion but that's really a taste issue. also the lack of a traditional Drum & Bass kind of disappointed me but again i'm just a huge fan of those.

Structure:
Definitely one of the strong points of your music in my opinion. The intro was just long enough to keep interested but progress the song correctly. the first speedy section came in at the perfect time and sounded great. The breakdown, very well placed although i suggest you try working with more cut off automations to give the track a more professional progression. I liked the break at 3:10 kicking back into overdrive, was a great touch.

Production Quality:
Everything was well EQed and controlled and although there were a lot of instruments playing at the same time in certain parts it wasn't overly chaotic. the snare could of been a bit more high oriented when it came to the drums as they were slightly loud/overwhelming but that might just be on my end.

Overall it was a great song with very original ideas. I look forward to hear more of your work my friend!

I would really appreciate it if you would take the time to listen to my latest track (Eternity)!

Thank you, thank you!

Was definitely going for authentic Japanese (or at least as close to it as I could get!). I've been listening back to this often, and I think the main synth could surely use another pad in there to make it slightly fuller. Just a hole right in the mid-highs that's bothering me a bit, as full as it sounds now.

I was thinking of doing traditional DnB, but the traditional Japanese vision got in the way of that, so I had it play secondary -- forgo that idea for tastier soundscape.

As for structure, I have it down to a formula at this point. But formulas keep me too closed most times, so it's really a matter of playing around with how long each section should be when envisioning it as a whole. Keeps me always out of the box and experimenting more often! Automation is actually something I'm not too comfortable with, but I'm choosing to immerse myself into it because it's a tool, just like everything else, and if you don't use it, why have it there at all, y'know? My auto-game will be up there at some point ;)

Interesting that you say EQ... most of this was just level control with very little EQ involved. The objective for this one was to be as sparse as possible and use when needed. Only one compressor, and that was for drums, and the rest was with brushstroke EQs that didn't do much but roughly shape and mold. And 'course, pre/post-master stuff. Though, I will concede, those drums were quite difficult to tame, especially because I like them to be in your face often. I'll probably tone them down and give 'em an EQ for brightness.

Thank you kindly!
