[Death of an Ingrate]

Now this is original stuff! I love finding music like this. Perfect mix of metal and dark industrial. The vocals were very well executed and the synth work is right up there. The simplistic metal/distorted drums fit the piece very well and the variating melodies just make it that much better. Just wish there was a bit more filter work, and the vocals could have been a bit louder. Also i would of appreciated it if you would have put the lyrics in author's comments

But over all this is a very epic track and i hope to hear more from you sometime. Keep up the good work!

Cool review. "simplistic metal/distorted drums" well, the drums are actually not very typical for metal, especially during the second riff. I remember back when I wrote the drums to that part, I thought they made the riff sound like Bowser theme music. I'm not sure what you mean by "distorted" since the only way in which I manipulated the drums was through volume, other than that I left them clean and dry, I mean if you want to hear distorted beats listen to Gone Astray and Dimwit (both my songs). I guess the thing that makes it most different from normal metal drumming is the pronounced use of the high hat cymbals, closed and open. Also the dance beat I added in the breakdown, just for this remix lol.

EDIT: As it turned out, I DID know what you meant by filtering, I just thought you meant with Love Philter or something, not filtering frequencies, lol.

Enjoyable!

It's certainly an enjoyable piece. It seems to have a rather strange charm to it, relatable to some sort of soundtrack piece. although i have to say that it is quiet short and that it does not loop very well, the instrument selection is very appropriate and the drums are very well done. The melodies have a strange feel to them, almost uneasy. I think you should try making a longer melody pattern tho and try to make it a bit slower. I think this would sound much better if it were a slower ballad type of song. I can't really give you any sort of usefull instrumental advice since this type of music really isnt in my style range, But i hope at least some of this was useful.

Hey mate, glad you enjoyed!

As foretold in my previous response to SuperSteph54, I gave myself the challenge to make the shortest most efficient song possible, and I tried to make a melody that would stick in your mind!

The reason it sounds so uneasy is because of the chords and the motives I chose. I did some sort of call and response, but with the exact same melody, so it sounds just as much a question than an answer, hence the ambiguity. The chords also NEVER resolve.

I'm really surprised someone noticed though, I figure you have at the very least SOME experience in the domain.

Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed, I'll try to make it longer next time!

[Cynic Nghh Hype Track '11]

I don't care what everyone says.

This track is a win. The beat is mad, the keys are catchin and you've got just the right voice for rap. Lyrics are right on. Could use a bit more hat tho and the snare has too much res. The song is really on the short side too... but since this is ng i guess il let it pass. The mix is pro. except for the rappin being pretty quiet, but you definitly got a good chance in the competition. Good luck and good work.

I have to say that you are really starting to impress me. This sounds completely proffessional! The drums are mindblowing (wich doesnt surprise me) the best is very well made, the bassline is great... i dont even know how you made the intro... the way the drums just pop up after the intro is just superb. Next thing i would do is add a main melody in the higher register with the piano say... then bring in all down but that higher register melody. then pop back in with a more complexe/longer bassline melody and im sure the rest will come yo ya =D

:D Man, Im glad you like it so much. The intro was pretty different then what I usually do for ambient sounding things. Layering and hitting random-ish notes on a pad with no attack and high release. Bassline is done in Reason. Freakin love Reason for basslines. :D Anyway, Im glad you like this. Im definitely gonna finish it, gonna work more on it tomorrow.

Love the atmosphere you got here. For what i can hear you used the reverb quiet well. All your transitions are spot on. The voice thing at 30 seconds in is nice but a bit loud for my tastes. The instrument selection is also very good. You got an excellent groove going ^^. Keep it up! I love it!

This is mad!

I love this mix! Great progression! The mix is pretty good too although the reverb is a bit overdone at times and i think it deserves a fater bass but besides that, the percs are epic (besides that snare/clap/hihat wich needs a bit less highpass). Opposed to what my review might sugest i did really like this mix. Newgrounds needs more artists as talented as you.

Wow guys. What a song... So much emotion! So crisp and clean, so upbeat, so... Amazing. This one is definitly one for the books. You guys really got something going here! I love the drums and the pads especialy. they are perfect for eachother. And omg russel. I'm definitly not as good a singer as you are. Not yet at least, i can always dream tho. ^^
